Mirna Manteca

Mirna is a biologist from the University of Sonora, with more than a decade of experience in the U.S.-Mexico borderlands. She has worked as Mexico program manager at Sky Island Alliance, Mexico program co-director at Wildlands Network, and rewilding coordinator with Cuenca Los Ojos, leading cross-border efforts to restore ecological connectivity and safeguard species and ecosystems. Mirna served as co-chair of the Latin America and Caribbean Transport Working Group within the IUCN Connectivity Conservation Specialist Group. She is co-founder and co-director of Asociación Mujeres y Conservación, an initiative that seeks to highlight women working in conservation in Latin America. Mirna focuses on finding integrated solutions to protect wildlife and the ability to move through the landscape by combining scientific knowledge with community engagement and key stakeholder participation.
