Adam Weymouth, Author, Journalist
Adam Weymouth is a writer and journalist whose work has been widely published, appearing in Granta, The Atlantic, The Observer, and the BBC. His writing consistently explores the interplay between people, animals, and the natural world. The National Writing Centre has named him as one of ten writers shaping the UK’s future.
Adam Weymouth’s first book, Kings of the Yukon, tells the story of his five-month, 2,000-mile canoe trip across Canada and Alaska. The book examines the decline in salmon numbers and explores how their disappearance is affecting the numerous communities and ecosystems that rely on them. Kings of the Yukon won the Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year, the Stanfords Adventure Travel Book of the Year, and the Prix Paul-Emile Victor, and was also shortlisted for the Ondaatje Prize.
Lone Wolf was recently published in May 2025. In it, he goes on a thousand-mile walk through the Alps, following in the footsteps of a wolf who had made the same journey a decade before, and examining the rapid changes faced by these wild corners of Europe.
