Winner of Sundance’s Audience Award for World Cinema Documentary, Sea of Shadows starts with Sea Shepherd, and highlights our efforts to save the critically endangered vaquita porpoise. During Operation Milagro v, Sea Shepherd was able to retrieve close to 200 nets, saving almost 600 animals from imminent death. The vaquita would not be alive today without our brave crew and your generous support!

Sea Shepherd ships will return to the Sea of Cortez in September to further our effort in saving the vaquita from extinction. With your help, we can ensure this important ecosystem thrives for generations to come.

***All gifts toward Operation Milagro VI Will Continue to be Matched Through the Month of July***

LA Times: “Eco-crisis Documentary ‘Sea of Shadows’ Lives Up to Sinister Title. Calling an ecological crisis documentary “Sea of Shadows: sounds like a ruse, an attempt to add a noir element to an environmental situation. The stark reality this documentary depicts, however, turns out to be far darker than anyone could imagine. The result is a chilling real-life criminal thriller set in a save-the-seas world.” See the full article.
